Freedom Health Medicare


Freedom Health is a Florida based health insurance company, independently owned and financed by physicians and other private investors. It is headquartered in Ocala, FL with another office in St. Petersburg. It was founded in 2004 and has seen rapid growth in the last few years. They won the Senior Gold Choice Award four years in a row and were ranked the 7th fastest growing company in America by Inc. 500 Magazine in August 2009.
 
Freedom Health offers a Medicare Advantage product with the ultimate goal to launch three HMO product lines – Commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid.
 
Medicare Advantage is an “alternative to traditional Medicare”. Members change the administration of their Medicare benefits to Freedom health and receive their “no premium” plan with added benefits including Part D prescription drug benefits at no premium, preventive services, vision care, and other benefits. They offer a variety of plans to meet a wide range of needs.
 
Freedom Health’s Savings Plan offers a $96.40 refund on Part B, a $0 PCP (primary care physician) copay and transportation benefit of 4 trips. Several other benefits, including vision, fitness, and hearing, are offered within this plan. 
 
The Freedom Savings Plan RX offers $70 refund on Part B, a $0 PCP copay, $0 copay on generic prescriptions, and a transportation benefit of 4 trips.
 
Another Freedom Health option is the VIP Savings Plan, which offers a $96.40 refund on Part B, a $0 PCP copay, a transportation benefit of 4 trips, and a $0 copayment on generic medication.
The plan offers several other benefits, including vision and hearing packages.  In order to qualify for this plan, you must be diagnosed with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or chronic heart failure.
 
An additional plan for those with chronic illnesses is Freedom Health’s VIP Savings COPD, which also offers a $96.40 refund on Part B, a $0 PCP copay, a transportation benefit of 4 trips,  and
$0 copayment for generic medication.  This plan also provides many other benefits, including dental and vision. If you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, you are entitled to enroll in this plan.
 
The Freedom Medicare Plan Rx offers a $0 PCP copay, a transportation benefit of 4 trips, a $0
copay on generic medication, as well as generic prescription drug insurance through the coverage gap.  Like other Freedom Health plans, this package also includes fitness, dental, and other additional benefits not included in traditional Medicare.
 
Freedom Health’s Medi-Medi Partial option offers a $0 PCP copay, a transportation benefit of 4 trips, a low drug copay, and other benefits not covered by Medicare Part A or B. You must be dual-eligible in order to enroll in this plan.
 
Freedom’s VIP Care package boasts a $0 PCP copay, $0 copy on generic prescriptions,
ay, generic medication insurance through the coverage gap,  transportation benefits of 4 trips, and additional benfits like vision and hearing. In order to enroll in this plan, you must be diagnosed with chronic heart failure, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease.
 
Another plan specialized for people with chronic conditions is Freedom’s VIP Care COPD.  The plan offers a $0 primary care physician copayment, $0 copayment on generic prescriptions, as well as generic medication coverage into the coverage gap. The plan also provides transportation benefits of 4 trips in addition to dental, vision, and other supplementary benefits. To qualify for this particular plan, you  must be diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
