Humana Health Insurance offers two Medicare Plans to your area. They are PPO HumanaChoice R5826-009 and PPO HumanaChoice R5826-023. A PPO is a Preferred Provider Organization, which allows you to choose your primary care provider. These plans can be added to your Medicare Advantage Plan.
HumanaChoice R5826-009 has a monthly premium of $179. There is a $15 co-pay for primary care office visits and a $35 co-pay for specialty office visits. Hospital inpatients have $225 co-pay per day for the first 7 days of their hospital stay. Hospital outpatients have a $50-$150 co-pay per stay, depending of the cost of the visit. Pharmacy, such as Prescription Drug Coverage, is not included with this Plan.
HumanaChoice R5826-023 has a monthly premium of $0. Primary care office visits have a $10 co-pay and specialty office visits have $30 co-pay. Hospital inpatients have $550 co-pay per stay. Hospital outpatients have $50-$95 co-pay per stay, depending on the cost of the stay. Pharmacy is not included with this plan.
It is important that you choose a Medicare plan that is offered in your area. Most often, Medicare carriers are members of a network of doctors and hospitals in the area. These doctors and hospitals will accept Medicare plans provided by the Medicare carriers within the network. If you choose to use a Medicare Plan that is outside of the network, you may not receive coverage for the healthcare fees you experience. However, in the case of an emergency you may receive extended coverage on your Medicare plan.
