How is Connecticut Health Insurance different than other states?
Connecticut is ranked 5th in the country for healthiest states to live in by United Health Foundation. Some of Connecticut’s strengths include high immunization coverage with 86.3 percent of children ages 19 to 35 months receiving complete immunizations, a low prevalence of obesity at 20.6 percent, and a low percentage of children in poverty at 10.3 percent of children under the age of 18. There is also a low prevalence of smoking at 17 percent and a low rate of uninsured at 9.4 percent. Connecticut was also the 6th state with the most health insurance coverage in 2007.
