Some individuals may be eligible for MaineCare. Full-benefit MaineCare wraps around Medicare and covers nearly all Medicare costs. Most individuals who are enrolled in Medicare will need to be enrolled in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. The plans will have premiums, co-payments, and deductibles, but if you are a MaineCare member, you will be eligible for subsidies to reduce or eliminate these costs. Maine also has the Medicare Savings Plan for QMB, SLMB, or QI eligible individuals. Medicare Savings Plan has similar benefits to those given to individuals enrolled in MaineCare.
