Medicare is federal health insurance program which is funded by the taxes of workers or their employers. This program is available to those 65 and older, those under 65 with disabilities, and those who have permanent kidney failure. The program consists of four parts: hospital insurance, medical insurance, medical advantage, and prescription drug coverage. Some of the plans require fees, but through stateside programs low-income beneficiaries can have Medicare premiums, deductible, and coinsurance paid through assistance.
