State Assistance Programs
In 2005, Legislature passed a Senate bill in order to make prescription drugs more affordable. Administered by the State of Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, four different programs were created.
The Big Sky Rx (BSRx) program provides premium assistance for people enrolled in a Medicare approved prescription drug plan. The plan can pay up to $33.19 per month for prescription drug insurance plan premiums. Because BSRx is a state pharmaceutical drug plan, you can enroll in a prescription drug plan at any time of the year or change plans once a year.
The BSRx Program was made to help Medicare beneficiaries pay for their Medicare approved prescription drug insurance premiums. The program is run by the state of Montana.
You are eligible for BSRx if:
- You are a resident of Montana
- You are a Medicare recipient
- Your income is less than $21,660 if single or $29,140 for a two person household
