Medigap
Medigap is a supplemental health insurance policy which extends the amount of health insurance for Medicare eligible recipients. A supplemental health plan is an additional Medicare plan on top of the Original Part A and Part B. Medigap is provided by private health insurance companies such as Anthem, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, HealthNet, or Humana. A supplemental or Medigap plan provides additional coverage to healthcare deficiencies that you may be exposed to under the Original Medicare Part A and Part B. Within the Medigap policy, there are 12 different standards of health plans.
Medicare applicants who are eligible for a Medigap Policy must also enroll in Medicare Part A and Part B to receive the benefits of a Supplemental health insurance plan. Medigap contains 12 different plans for an additional monthly premium on top of Part B. To receive the best benefits from your Supplemental Health Insurance Plan, contact one of our professional health insurance representatives to receive all of the necessary information to make an educated decision. Medicare and Medigap can seem complicated and it is important that you work with someone who fully understands the benefits of each plan.
Medigap and other supplemental health plans are not considered ‘family’ or ‘group’ plans. Both you and your spouse will need to obtain a Supplemental Medigap health insurance policy to receive the benefits. For additional Medicare and Medigap information, contact us directly at 1-877-567-5267. |
