AmeriHealthRx works with the Federal Government and is accessible for people who live in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. If you select this plan, you well be able to choose from several different benefits:

Option 1: Monthly Premium-$54.30

Option 1 includes a Part D prescription drug benefit.  The plan does feature $295 yearly deductible.  Additionally, you will have to pay 25% coinsurance after the deductible and before the plan pays $2,700 of your annual prescription drug expenses.  Once you hit the out of pocket (TROOP) limit of $4,350, you will pay either 5% coinsurance or $2.40 generic and $6 brand copayment for the rest of the year, whichever amount is larger.

Option 2: Monthly Premium-$58.90

Option 2 offers broader coverage than Option 1 without a deductible.

Until your annual drug expenses meet the $2,700 mark, you are responsible for paying the following copayments for prescription medications:  Before the annual drug costs (paid by the member and/or plan) reach $2,700, AmeriHealthRx members will pay the following for prescription drugs (all must be purchased at a retail pharmacy and all are for 30 day supplies):

  • $7 copay for generic drugs
  • $30 copay for preferred brands
  • $70 copay for non-preferred drugs
  • 33% for specialty drugs at retail pharmacy

After you reach $2700, you are responsible for covering the complete costs of your prescription drugs at discounted prices throughout the gap. Once your out of pocket expenses hit $4,350, you will pay either 5% coinsurance or $2.40 generic drug and $6 brand drug copayments for the rest of the year.
